What is permanent make-up?

In permanent make-up, color pigments are pricked into the top layer of the skin. The process is comparable to tattooing. Using a machine, tiny particles of color 0.8 to 1.4 millimeters (i.e. not quite as deep as in tattooing) are inserted into the skin. Thus, the color does not last permanently, but about two to five years.
